Overview
The purpose of this assignment is to create a visually engaging infographic that summarizes key concepts related to Patient Safety in nursing practice. This activity will help you synthesize information, communicate critical safety principles concisely, and use visuals to enhance understanding.
Instructions
Select a Topic:
- Your infographic should focus on a specific aspect/concept of Patient Safety.Choose one of the following:
- Adverse Events
- Culture of Safety
- Nurses Role in Patient Safety
- In your infographic, explain why this concept of patient safety matters
- How does this patient safety indicator impact overall healthcare quality?
- What are the implications of this patient safety indicator for healthcare organizations and patient safety outcomes?
Gather and Organize Content:
- Research your chosen topic using at least two credible sources (e.g., textbooks, peer-reviewed journal articles) that are no more than five years old.
- Identify key points and break them into digestible sections (e.g., definition, importance, best practices, impact on patient outcomes).
Design Your Infographic:
- Use clear headings and bullet points to structure your content.
- Incorporate visual elements such as icons, charts, or graphics to enhance clarity.
- Choose a color scheme and font that makes your infographic easy to read.
- Limit text to concise phrases – avoid long paragraphs.
Use an Infographic Tool:
- You may use Canva, Piktochart, Visme, Microsoft PowerPoint, or another design tool to create your infographic.
Include References:
- At the bottom of your infographic, provide a small reference section in APA format listing your sources.

Submission and Assessment Guidelines
- Include a minimum of 2 scholarly references in APA format (with in-text citations) dated within the past 5 years.
- Scholarly References: A scholarly reference refers to a source of information that is considered reliable and credible, has been vetted by experts, and contributes to the body of knowledge in a particular discipline. Examples of scholarly references accepted by Arizona College of Nursing include peer-reviewed journal articles, dissertations and theses, academic books published by university press, .gov or .org websites, and textbooks. Scholarly references need to be current within the past five years unless it is seminal work. Seminal work refers to a publication that has had a profound and lasting impact on a particular field of study. For example: Benner, P. (1984).
