  Creating an Abstract

Directions:

After studying Module 5: Lecture Materials & Resources, discuss the following:

Part I: Describe the components of an abstract.

• Share your abstract draft and provide feedback to peers on their abstracts.
• Include one (1 ) positive and one (1) room for improvement.
• Focus on the following for a quality abstract:
  • Clarity and conciseness- It is easy to understand.
  • Completeness- Covers all the essential elements of the project.
  • Effectiveness- Captures the attention of the reader.
  • Significance- Addresses the reason and significance of the project to practice or patient outcomes.

Part II: Briefly describe cultural influence on continuous quality improvement in healthcare settings.

 

Submission Requirements:

• Your initial post should be at least 400 words, formatted, and cited in current APA style. Your initial post is worth 8 points.
• You should respond to at least two of your peers by extending, refuting/correcting, or adding additional nuance to their posts. Your reply posts are worth 2 points (1 point per response).
• All replies must be constructive and use literature where possible.
• Please post your initial response by 11:59 PM ET Thursday, and comment on the posts of two classmates by 11:59 PM ET Sunday.
• You can expect feedback from the instructor within 48 to 72 hours from the Sunday due date.
