Professional Poster Presentation

In this discussion, you will disseminate your evidence-based project through an oral presentation.

Instructions:

  • Create a professional poster presentation that describes the Capstone Project. Posters may include text and images as needed to convey concepts.
  • Record a 5-minute video of your poster.
  • Poster critique – Critique at least 2 of your peers’ posters:
    • Critique must answer the following:
      • Was the presentation visually appealing?
      • Did the presentation deliver a clear message?
      • Did the presentation flow logically?
      • Share strengths and room for improvement.

Assignment Tasks:

  • The poster must include the following components:
    • Title of poster/project
    • Author name and credentials.
    • Background (i.e., Problem, effect on population, effect on practice).
    • Literature supporting your project (Brief synopsis).
    • PICO question.
    • EBP intervention
    • Implications/Recommendations
    • References (APA-formatted)

 

Submission Requirements:

  • The poster must be clear and concise, and students will lose points for improper grammar, punctuation, and misspelling.
  • Font Sizes (Approximations)
    • Title: 80 pt
    • Author(s): 60 pt
    • Headings: 44 pt
    • Main Text: 32 pt
    • Captions: 28 pt
  • Size and Layout
    • A typical conference poster has a horizontal layout – 48 x 36 inches. To edit the dimensions of your poster in PowerPoint, click on the Design tab.
    • It is recommended to keep your poster to 3 or 4 columns of content.
  • Visual Appeal
    • You do not need to be a professional artist to create a stunning poster!
    • Please keep it simple, remember that brevity is key, and do not be overly wordy.
    • Remember that your poster is a visual representation and a synthesis of the “greatest hits” of your EBP Proposal!
    • Use high-resolution images and attribute them correctly.
  • Your initial post should be your poster.
  • You should respond to at least two of your peers by reviewing their poster.
  • All replies must be constructive and use literature where possible.
  • Attention: Please post your initial response by 11:59 PM ET Wednesday, and comment on the posts of two classmates by 11:59 PM ET Friday.
  • You can expect feedback from the instructor within 48 to 72 hours from the Friday due date.
