Discussion Topic
This 3-part discussion will provide foundational information for part of the Week 5 summative assessment. While this group discussion does require collaborating with your group, you will complete it similar to other weekly discussions, and you will be graded individually based on your participation.
Scenario
Your organization has hired a new HR director, and they have approached your team requesting an analysis of performance appraisal processes that might be most effective. The HR director has requested that your team provide an overview of these different performance appraisal processes and rationale for why each might be best.
Response Requirements
Part 1: Complete by Thursday.
Individually, choose 1 performance appraisal process (or create a new process based on a combination of several) to propose. Access the Performance Appraisal Resources section of the Week 4 University Library Resources for performance appraisal resources, as needed.
Post the following information to your group:
- A summary of your chosen performance appraisal process
- The expectations of the process
- The benefits of this performance appraisal process
- Any anticipated challenges with the performance appraisal process and how they will be overcome
- Why you think this performance appraisal process would be effective
Part 2: Complete by Saturday.
Within your group, post a response to at least 2 other group members and discuss their proposed performance appraisal process. Provide feedback on the strengths or drawbacks you see in your group members’ proposed performance appraisal processes.
Individually, consider why your process or someone else’s process might be more or less effective.
Part 3: Complete by Monday.
Individually, post a 175-word final message in which you summarize your original proposed performance appraisal process, the discussion, and whether or not your position has changed on which performance appraisal process may be most effective. Include justification why.
