A growing body of research has pointed to the five-factor model as a recurrent and more or less comprehensive taxonomy of personality traits. The five-factor model, consists of Neuroticism (N), Extraversion (E), Openness to Experience (O), Agreeableness (A), and Conscientiousness (C). These traits are bipolar dimensions, it is possible that the adjectives in bipolar scales are not true psychological opposites (McCrae & Costa, 1987).
