Health Inequality
Health care is considered a basic human right that is guaranteed to all citizens in some capitalist countries, including Sweden, Japan, and Great Britain. The level of health in these countries indicates that the medical system in these countries is doing a great job at providing access to and quality health care (Macionis, 2015: 271-272). Out of all high-income countries only the U.S. remains without a universal health care program (Macionis, 2015: 274).
- Do you agree or disagree that health care should be considered a basic right for all citizens? Why or why not? What do you think is the best way American society can provide quality health care so its citizens can have good health?
