Classmate’s answer B

Hi class,

My discussion for this week is on the difference between veins and arteries. They are both blood vessels that aid in the circulatory system. Arteries have thick and muscular walls to undergo the high pressure of blood going through. The function of an artery is to carry blood away from the heart. Arteries additionally carry oxygenated blood and nutrients to the entire body, therefore it is visually represented in red, showing it is rich in oxygen. The only exceptions to this are the pulmonary and umbilical arteries which are supplied with deoxygenated blood. On the other hand, veins are represented in blue due to how they carry deoxygenated blood. However, similar to the artery there are some exceptions. Veins are additionally closer to the surface of the skin and have thinner walls. Something that veins have that arteries do not are valves, which prevent blood to flow in the wrong direction.
