Initial Post Instructions
Part 1: Introduce yourself to your classmates. Include your background and what made you want to get into healthcare. When have you used medical terminology in your daily life?
My name is Donnabelle Rogers. I am a single mother of four beautiful girls. I have been in the medical field for 8 years. I was a School Nurse assistant at a charter school for 6 years and currently working as a Caregiver for almost a year now.
To become a lifelong learner and a compassionate leader, so that I can contribute meaningful solutions to global challenges and inspire others to reach their full potential.
It my life’s passion to naturally care for any living thing in this world. I feel such joy in my heart knowing that I can make a difference by providing care to those who are in need. It is my greatest dream to become a Nurse ever since I was a child. My passion for nursing care started from being inspired through my late grandparents who helped raised me in the Philippines. I promised them that when pursue my dream of becoming a nurse, I will go back to the Philippines to take care of them. Unfortunately, that did not happen because they got sick and left this world. So now, I use that same energy and inspiration for myself and my girls.
Part 2: Medical terminology is a very important part of healthcare. In your initial post, you will practice making medical terms by addressing the following requirements:
- Create four of your own medical terms.
- In each medical term, indicate the prefix, root word, suffix, and any connecting vowels.
- Be sure to give the definition of each portion of the medical term and explain what the word means as a whole.
- Be unique with your terms, as they do not need to be real medical words in the end.
