Week 7 Pharmacology Assignment

Assignment: Evaluating Legal and Ethical Prescribing Practices for Pain Management

In this Assessment, you will step into the role of a clinician facing the complexities of pain management. In this assignment, you will engage with an interactive patient scenario, review clinical data, and make decisions about prescribing narcotics. You will communicate pain management options to the patient, outline documentation and monitoring requirements, and address opioid addiction prevention strategies.

You will also analyze your state’s regulations and justify your pharmacological choices, reflecting on the ethical considerations of prescribing, or not prescribing, narcotics. Use this assignment to demonstrate your clinical judgment, regulatory awareness, and commitment to ethical care.
