Effects of globalization on my community

The continuous and dramatic spread of ideas attitudes, customs as well as institutions throughout the world can roughly be used to describe what globalization is. However, most of these concepts that spread around the world have their origin in the western countries, which include Europe and America.  Globalization affects the different regions, and this effect can be either positive or negative. It is, therefore, seen as both a savior and a damnation of the world.

The Middle East, where I come from has also witnessed the effects of globalization. So many people may not know the boundaries of the Middle East and also may not be aware of the countries that collectively make up the Middle East. In geography, boundaries are an important aspect. For instance, there is a portion of Turkey that is found is in Europe. Another portion of it is considered a part of Asia Minor and is usually included in the study of the Middle East region.

One effect of globalization that applies to much more people is the brain drain. Many students from the Middle East come to the United States of America to study. However, after finishing school, we may not all return home to develop it, but rather choose to remain here. One of the major fields of study that has been affected is the faculty of medicine. One way in which globalization has changed my community is religion. The take on globalization has always been a negative one based on the fact that the Middle East is generally an Islam religion. There have been concerns that globalization, which can also be translated to Americanization tends to erode cultural attributes of the Muslims. The main issue may not be necessarily on the Islam as a religion, but Islam as a law. Globalization is, therefore viewed as a major threat to traditions.

On the other hand regarding religion, there is an increase in tension between the non-European language speakers and the indigenes, with regards to most of them opting to become Muslims. The main religion of immigrants from North Africa or the Middle East is Islam, and as a result Islam has become the fastest-growing religion in Europe.

Economics has not been left out in globalization. Globalization is described as a process that seeks to simultaneously form a marketing space that is unified and single as well as having multiple production locations. Economically, the effect of globalization has also been felt in the Middle East.  The Middle East is considered among the wealthy countries or also a region with huge amounts of natural resources. In conclusion, I agree with Boiser and Canzanell, (2008), that globalization can be said to be a fetish, a magic spell, as well as a key that is created to open all the doors to all mysteries, both of the present and the past
