This week, you will assess behavioral health care policy, law, and ethics as these apply to the multidisciplinary nature of behavioral health care settings. For this Assignment, you will create a PowerPoint presentation of your findings, and then use Kaltura (a video capture technology) to submit a video of you presenting your findings. To prepare for this Assignment:
- Download the ethical code of a mental health discipline and the ethical guidelines from a behavioral health organization that provides integrated care—either one you work for or from one you search online. You may use this week’s Learning Resources as a starting point.
- Analyze these ethical codes to determine the similarities, differences and if there are any discrepancies between them that would result in difficulties for clinicians and/or administrators.
- Review how to use Kaltura to record your presentation.
The Assignment:
First, compose a 5- to 7-slide PowerPoint presentation that addresses the following:
- Provide an analysis of the code of ethics of a mental health discipline (psychologists, counselors, social workers) and the ethical principles of an organization/agency that provides integrated behavioral health care. It can be an organization you are familiar with or one who search online.
- In your analysis, include the following:
- What similarities and discrepancies exist between the codes of ethics from the mental health discipline and the organization that provides integrated behavioral health care services?
- Give specific examples of where they align or differ.
- How would you manage any competing demands or values of these two ethical codes/guidelines?
Then, record yourself presenting your PowerPoint presentation. Use the Kaltura tool to record and upload your screen capture and audio narration of the PowerPoint presentation.
