As a leader or manager in a behavioral health care setting, you will be responsible for understanding the requirements of different laws, policies, and ethical codes. The type of agency or setting in which you work and where it is located will determine what ethical codes and laws with which you must comply. Thus, it is important to determine the difference between laws and ethics, the consequences of not adhering to them, and how to integrate the requirements relevant to your setting in a legal, ethical, and professional manner.
